Everything started in 1811, when Wilhelm Moll built a factory in the town of Brzeg and started tanning operations. Wilhelm Moll was an inheritor of family secrets the Molls family have gathered throughout years of experience in the leather industry in Wittenberg. The tannery kept developing for 100 years. The First World War ended the series of successes of the Brzeg's branch of the Molls family and the Second World War led to nearly complete, by 90%, destruction of the factory.
